What does the Military, Johnson & Johnson, Purolater products and Nascar Cup Series Suppliers have in common? All have counted on V.E.P. Manufacturing to handle their machining needs. The Jackson, NJ, precision parts maker has built aircraft components for all branches of the Armed Forces as well as Sikorsky, Boeing, including highly classified Space Shuttle parts. V.E.P. has also crafted custom race-car parts for N.H.R.A. dragsters and IROC series race cars. The dynamic Ocean County machining company even built a Caterpillar diesel filter line, which was installed at Purolator’s North Carolina facility.
Company History
In 1973–evoking the classic American entrepreneurial spirit–Victor, Frances, and Robert Pfluger established V.E.P. Manufacturing in a two-car garage in Tinton Falls, NJ. Within a year, the fledgling company was moved to a 1,200-square-foot shop in nearby Marlboro Township. During its seven years there, V.E.P. expanded the facility to 3,000 square feet, adding a new Moog Hydrapoint 83-1000 NC machining center. The growing company bought its current Jackson, NJ, building in 1981, adding new CNC turning and machining centers shortly thereafter–along with several factory rebuilt CNC machines.
State Of The Art Equipment
V.E.P.’s commitment to quality has meant always keeping its equipment current. Over its more than thirty years of operation, the company has continually acquired more capable milling machines, turning centers, and machining centers, so as to keep up with surging customer demand. Even in the face of a severe economic downturn, spurred by the tragic events of 9/11, the Pflugers kept the company viable, adding even more machining centers and later buying a complete CNC machine shop, a move that brought the total number of V.E.P.’s CNC machines to fifteen.
We Are A Family-Operated Business
Throughout more than four decades in the precision parts manufacturing industry, the Pfluger family has remained fully involved in its business. Company founders Victor and Frances Pfluger retired in 1999, Eileen Pfluger has been with the company since 1986, Tom Pfluger became full-time in 1991, Ryan Pfluger came on board in 1999, and after graduating college Timothy Pfluger in 2006. Today all administrative, quality-control, and customer relations duties are handled by Robert, Thomas, Ryan, and Timothy Pfluger, professionals committed to a one-on-one, long-term relationship with their customers.
